Born Albert Osamudiamen Faluyi, his ancestral heritage traces back to the Beta Israel, whose forebears migrated from Ethiopia before eventually settling in what is now Benin City, Nigeria. He has achieved notable success representing immigrants in immigration and asylum appeals, including before the European Court of Human Rights, where he successfully argued a case against the United Kingdom on behalf of a client. His work at the international level reflects a sustained commitment to the protection of fundamental rights and access to justice.
Earlier in his career, he taught English at a university in Nigeria and later served as a Home Office Presenting Officer, representing the Secretary of State for the Home Department in immigration and asylum proceedings.
